Cupcakes are one treat that many have come to enjoy for over the years but there are so many ways to make them and add your own “magic touch”. With that said, here is a guide to the best cupcake recipe ever.
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups sugar (can use Splenda 1 – 1¼ cup sugar for a less sweet taste)
2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup shortening (very soft but not melted)
¾ cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla or 1½ teaspoons almond extract
2 large eggs
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in large bowl until combined.
Add in the shortening, milk, vanilla and eggs: beat on electric mixer at medium speed scraping bowl repeatedly until completely blended (batter should be thick, add more milk if desired).
Pour batter into regular size paper lined muffin tins filling three quarter way up.
Bake for 22 to 24 minutes until cupcakes test (do not over bake or they will dry out)
Remove from tins immediately.
Cool completely before adding frost.
Makes approximately 18 – 20 cupcakes
This particular recipe has dated back to as far as the 2000 and is still being used today and can date back to as far as the year 2000. Still very handy if followed carefully. So get your apron on, grab chef hat if you have one and cook up a sweet storm.
