Glamorous Heart Cupcakes Recipe

FOR THE CUPCAKES
12 basic vanilla cupcakes

TO DECORATE
Sattina True Red sugarpaste
Sattina Candy Floss
Pink sugarpaste
flesh-coloured sugarpaste
10g (¼oz) white sugarpaste
Sugarfl air Gold Sparkle
lustre dust
white vegetable fat
icing sugar
edible glue

round cookie cutter
heart cookie cutter
edible pearl balls
small bow mould
Damask cookie stencil

1 Bake the cupcakes according to the basic recipe on www.foodheavenmag.com/basic-vanilla-cupcakes Allow them to cool completely before decorating.

2 Dust your work surface with icing sugar, then roll out the pink sugarpaste to a thickness of 3mm (1/8in). Rub a little vegetable fat on one side of the Damask stencil, then place it onto the sugarpaste – it will stick fi rmly in place. Roll over the top of the stencil with a non-stick rolling pin.

3 Brush over the stencil sparingly with gold lustre dust, making sure every section is fully covered.

4 Lift the stencil off very carefully, then cut out a heart the same size as the top of your cupcake. Repeat for the red sugarpaste.

5 Roll out some fl esh-coloured sugarpaste, then use a circle cutter the same diameter as the cupcakes to cut out 12 discs. Attach these to the top of the cupcakes, fi xing into place with a little water. Attach the red and pink stencilled hearts using edible glue. Shape the remaining sugarpaste into small bows, then add to the cupcakes. Finish with a sugarpaste necklace.
